About Us Meyer Minkowitz was born in 1946, in Vienna, Austria, as his family was fleeing from Russian persecution. His family headed to the shores of freedom. America was indeed a fresh start, and a new beginning. Meyer was raised in Brooklyn where he attended yeshiva. After marrying in 1963, he began wholesaling diamonds at the Diamond Dealers Club on 47th St. Meyer quickly gained a reputation for his sharp eye. As years went on he wholesaled many diamonds. His name became synonymous with quality and honesty. Over the years, Mink Jewelers has expanded into retail jewelry with the opening of the Mink Jewelers boutique, by Meyer’s sons Mendel and Zalman. Under the leadership of the Minkowitz sons, the Mink Jewelers boutique took off as the source for jewelry of the finest style, craftsmanship and quality. With their collection varying from contemporary designs to traditional heirloom pieces, Mink Jewelers is a sure bet to find jewelry that suits every occasion, taste and budget.
